Letter from John Kenny to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Kenny hopes to secure the work of printing Owen's publications following the death of Mr McGowan, Owen's previous printer. Kenny provides a thorough résumé of his life as an Owen acolyte, explaining of being a "humble worshipper" for 15 years and for a number of years was attached to the Liverpool Branch of the Rational Society. Since moving to London he has been actively engaged in the management of the John Street Institute and two years earlier, along with two "Socialist friends", set up a printing business .

Enclosed is a printed circular noting the passing of the shares and interests of Kenny, Finch and Co. to Kenny alone.
