Manuscript letter, written by R Ackers on behalf of Ackers and Co. Commercial Agents. The company are proposing to supply the "labouring class of the East and West of London" with beef soup and potatoes "at cost price throughout the year". Ackers calls on the "wealthy and benevolent" to subscribe to the scheme as a means of relieving the threat of "pauperism and crime". Owen is asked, if he is in favour of the scheme, to point Ackers to any place "in the metropolis or in any other part of the globe" where he can set up his scheme.
