Manuscript draft letter addressed to the constituency of Great Britain and Ireland. Robert Owen declares that he will be standing as a candidate for a seat in Parliament at the next general election for the purpose of advocating rational practical measures, not for a class, a sect or party, but for the permanent benefit of the whole of the population.Owen states that he is against all parties. He goes on to outline his belief that human character is formed by the environment he lives in. He says that if any constituency will accept his principles he will advocate them against all prejudices.
