Thomas Perronet Thompson (1783 - 1869) was a British politician, serving as Governor of Sierra Leone from 1808 to 1810, until he was dismissed for complaining about the conditions imposed upon freed slaves in the region. He became an M.P., representing Kingston upon Hull between 1835-1837, and Bradford in 1847. He advocated for universal suffrage.

Thompson also served in the military, rising to the rank of Major General.
