Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Robert Neil informs Robert Owen that he has arranged suitable premises for Owen to hold his lectures in Edinburgh, scheduled to take place on the 12th and 13th of that month. He has ordered placards that will be posted throughout the city, and will also post advertisements in the "leading newspapers."

The letter also refers to an address made by Owen to The Philalethean Society of Edinburgh, in response to a challenge that this society made against socialists and Owen himself, whom they refer to as "notorious." Copies of Owen's address and the challenge made by the society are present with the letter.
