Letter from Alex Campbell to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter opening with Campbell writing of his pleasure in finding Owen's health, mind and body still being of benefit to the world. Refers to Owen giving an address at the Institution on John Street,[London] to mark Owen's birthday; writes also about receiving an invitation to a Tea Party - will be there "in spirit", but has not yet decided if will be there "in body" as he is intending to be in the country [side] from Saturday.

Pasted in the letter is a cutting from an American paper, which Campbell is sure will be of interest to Owen. The cutting refers to a petition from 15,000 Spiritualists presented to the U.S. Senate asking for Congress to investigate Spiritualism.
