Letter from Robert Owen to Albert, Prince Consort of Queen Victoria

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter asking the Prince to convey the enclosed letter to the Queen. Owen feels the subjects contained will be of interest to Her Majesty at a time of "crisis, to the Royal Family, to Great Britain, Europe & the World", with the possibility of "Revolution such as the human race has never yet experienced".

Owen continues, detailing the nature of the 'revolution' taking place in various parts of Europe, and writes how he believes this will manifest itself to the people, stating that "whatever the Statesmen or Political Economists may have written or may say to the contrary - the population of every country may be easily governed on true principles well employed, well educated & well planned"; the World will be ruled by "truth".
