Letter from R. Watt to Robert Dale Owen

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter opens with Watt discussing the election Jesse D. Bright as a United States Senator. Watt notes his "surprise" and, whilst the people [of Indiana] have nothing against Bright, they would wish for a Senator to be an "abler man".

Watt continues, asking Dale Owen to write to him with information regarding his father's progress with the "reorganisation of Society", his interest in Owen being long standing having left Liverpool in 1828 to join the community at New Harmony but finding it dissolved.
