Letter from John Browne to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Browne indicates he has enclosed a subpoena for Owen and Lord Brougham and Vaux to appear on at the Guild Hall the following day at the request of the plaintiff Alexander Bailey Richmond. Browne explains he does not know exactly what facts Richmond wishes to "elicit" from Owen and Lord Brougham, but he believes it concerns a negotiation with Owen regarding a position [as school teacher] at New Lanark in c 1816-1817.
