Letter from Robert Cooper to Dr Henry Travis

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Cooper discusses the need for unification amongst the various Robert Owen groups and societies which have been instigated in various towns and cities. He states that amalgamation of these will allow "one common effort to establish Socialism in its integrity, as taught by our venerable friend [Robert Owen]" but warns that the societies will not combine for "what is called Christian Socialism".

Further discussion of Cooper's thoughts on the advancement of Socialism follows, before he writes he plans to give 12 more lectures in Dundee, Scotland during the coming month.
