Letter from Ed. Cowper to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter opens with Cowper writing that unless Owen has any objections, the British and Foreign Philanthropic Society are to give up "rooms" due to "no subscription [to the Society] having been obtained since Jan 3rd".

He continues, explaining the Committee have sent Owen a resolution (to vacate the rooms), but that this is not done from "ill will" to Owen, rather from "having no tangible object, & really not knowing what to do"; remarks that he thinks the Society "need not be dissolved".
