Letter from J.A. Douglas to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Douglas makes reference to a letter he received from Colonel Phipps - which he has copied to the rear of the letter. He remarks he would like to consult Owen on the content of this letter from Phipps.

The letter from Phipps, on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Albert, tells Douglas that [Lavina] Ryves was authorised to communicate with the advisers of Her Majesty, and that Douglas should follow this example.
