Letter from William Pare to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter, William Pare has copied letters from Mr C. F. Green and Mr Henry Travis.

In Mr Green's letter to Pare, he explains the progress made with purchasing estates and his dealings with Mr John Hodson. He has struck a deal with Mr Hills for the Wretton Estate to be sold to him for £14,000, or at least not above £15,000. Mr Green is inclined towards to Wretton Estate as opposed to the East Winch Estate at £19,000.

Mr Travis' letter he comments on the Reading discussion.

In Pare's notes at the end, he remarks on the confusing content of both letters, particularly the amounts to be paid for estates, as Mr Hodson has just offered the one of the estates for an even lower price.
