All but one of the letters in this series are from Robert Owen to Leopold I, and revolve around Owen's ideas of reorganizing society around socialist ideals and spiritualism. The letters written by Robert Owen are copies or drafts of originals.

Administrative / Biographical History

Leopold I (16 Dec1790 – 10 Dec1865) was the first King of the Belgians and the founder of the Belgian line of the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. He was the uncle of Queen Victoria.
