Letter from Joseph Rogers to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Owen is informed that Rogers has been instructed by Dr. Robson to forward the enclosed Bank Order (not present) for £6 15s. Owen is asked to provide a receipt and forward it to Hexham, Northumberland as Rogers intends to leave Glasgow for there shortly.

In a postscript, Owen is informed that his son [Robert Dale Owen] has again been elected to [American] Congress by a majority of 1000 votes, and is also given the sad news of the death of his granddaughter, the only daughter of Richard Owen.
