Letter from S. Rowbotham to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Rowbotham refers to the "little confusion" ongoing in their Society [Manea Fen, Cambridgeshire]. He explains along with William Hodson he had twice called unsuccessfully on Owen with the object of discussing the "deep rooted subject" of marriage [Hodson has advertised for single women to join the community] and wishes Owen to communicate his views as the decision he arrives at "may be of great importance".
