Sidney Herbert (16 Sep 1810 – 2 Aug 1861) was an English Statesman. He held several offices during his career, including two terms as Secretary of State for War and one term as Secretary of State for the Colonies. With Florence Nightingale, he led the movement for Army Health and War Office reform after the Crimean War. Herbert was made a British peer in July 1861, but shortly died from Bright's Disease in August.
