Letter from John F. Watson to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Watson explains that he has enclosed an essay explaining his thoughts on education. Watson remarks that Owen may find it curious that a "professedly religious" man would arrive at the conclusion that education can form character, as he believes previously Owen's ideas on education had been opposed by Theologians.

The essay on education is present and contains lengthy views on the importance of education in the formation of character. Several references are made to chapters and verses in the bible.
