Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Owen of the state of Socialism in France. He says that he hasn't heard anything of Owen's recent activities as he is only able to write to his friends, Michel Hanhart, Isaac Ironside, Sierre Baume and Madam Wheeler from time to time.

Gay updates Owen on his marriage to Desiree Veret and of his two children Aime and Owen. He tells Owen that they had tried to set up a children's home at Chatillon near Paris, however it had failed due to lack of capital but they hope to use the house for something one day.

Gay requests that Owen send him a journal or an annual report of the Rational Society.
