Letter from Henry Travis to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter opens with Travis explaining that shall soon leave Durham to join with Owen and his "righteous cause" [in London] and wishes to when and where they should meet. All that is currently delaying Travis is a matter with his solicitor over a sum of £1500, the majority of which he intends investing in shares in the Hartlepool Dock and Railway [Company], and possibly a smaller amount in New Harmony.

Travis explains he "rejoiced" when hearing Owen had delivered a lecture to 1500 people in Leeds; believes that "delightful" progress is being made with "the Cause".
