Letter from Charles G. Allhusen to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Allhusen indicates prior arrangements make it impossible for him to make the assembly in the 14th. He does, however, hope to be in London a few days later.

Allhusen proceeds to discuss what he considers the best method of introducing the "Rational System", insisting that halfpenny placards should be produced and administered as the best means of getting the message across to the "lowest order, which on the contrary have the highest interest in its success!".

Included is an enclosure entitled "People's League of Universal Union and a Rational Organisation of Society. Social Equality, not through conspiracy or violence but through investigation, conviction, public opinion, national will"; Allhusen asks Owen if he will kindly read it to the Assembly.
