Allsop explains the feeling in England presently is that the “moderate party, or in other words the Capitalist & Middle Classes have gained the ascendancy in the elections throughout France”. Allsop makes it clear he is “opposed to such a result” and feels that Owen should “see La Martine” (Lamartine).
