Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter opens with Pemberton reiterating his admiration for Owen and his philosophies. He also explains that reading Thomas More's Utopia had inspired to write the Happy Colony.

Pemberton's investigations into "the happiness and perfection of the human race" arose from a "perfect and exact conviction of the error of education in all the schools and colleges in existence".

The letter closes with Pemberton asking Owen to accept copies of some of his other works.
