Polling Card of the Society of Friends of Foreigners in Distress

Scope and Content

This printed polling paper was sent to each of the Governors of the Society in order that they could cast their vote on which pensioner in distress should receive aid. A list of 25 pensioners is shown, and under this it is noted that the six on the list who receive most votes will be "elected".

Also enclosed is a card which states the case of No.21 on the list, Nicolas Purallo. A brief résumé of Purallo's life is recounted, with his need for aid being noted as due to a "Rheumatic Fever" which has left him incapacitated.
