Letter from Samuel Baldwin to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter requesting that Owen deliver a course of lectures in Halifax before opening he goes to Liverpool to open the new Hall of Science. Baldwin notes that the Halifax Branch are 'labouring under peculiar circumstances having been a few days ago deprived of our room.' He also writes that the "notorious" Joseph Baker is to deliver 'four lectures against us.'
