Letter from John Evans to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Evans explains Mr [William] Bromley (proprietor of premises at Gray's Inn Road, London which at the time were occupied by Owen) has requested he place a "file in Chancery" as a means of obtaining, from Owen, the Warrant of Attorney which had been given to Owen for money and which, Evans states, has now been paid. However, Evans believes this to be a step of "summary and expensive character" nature, and has therefore taken it upon himself to present an alternative.

A separate manuscript note acknowledges the receipt of a Bill of Sale from Owen on the 13 December [1832].
