Letter from Robert Dale Owen to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Robert Dale tells Owen to expect his arrival in London [from Naples] no later than September. He intends to stay for a few weeks and therefore give himself time to collect information of a "reliable kind" on Spiritualism [to be used in his forthcoming publication].

Robert Dale writes of his regret in leaving Naples, a place where he has made many valuable friends, but after 5 years he feels the want of a "more moral atmosphere and a country of progress". He explains that his wife Mary and the children have already left Naples (for America) aboard a 600 ton clipper.
