The majority of this series consists of the accounts for various printing work completed by McGowans on behalf of Owen. The items are often written by a D. Cotter, presumably a worker at the company. In the last letter in the series Anne McGowan asks for financial help from Owen.

Administrative / Biographical History

McGowan & Co. was a printing company based at 16 Great Windmill Street, London. Liquidation proceedings began against Anne McGowan and McGowan Printers & Co. in 1869, at which point she is listed at working at Great Windmill Street and residing at No.10 the Grange, Brompton, London.
