Letter from A. D. Wheeler to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Wheeler informs Owen she encloses a translation of [Jules] Gay's latest letter; Wheeler wonders if Owen would like to meet with Gay.

In the translated letter Gay notes reading the latest piece by Fourier. Wheeler advises Owen against reading it though, as he would find nothing but "bitter criticism" adding to Owen's already "painful feeling". She also remarks that Fourier is "insupportable when he is opposed in the slightest way".
