Letter from Robert Owen to Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, 4th Marquess of Lansdowne

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter thanking Lansdowne for the note he sent Owen regarding his 1st volume of his life. He tells him that a supplement appendix of his most recent writings is at the press and he will send him a proof as soon as he can.

Owen ask Lansdowne is he believes there to be sufficient power, energy, moral courage and foresight in the government to carry out the changes which he proposes in an enclosed memorial. Owen intends to petition both houses on this subject.
