Notice of a meeting of the National Colonization Society

Scope and Content

Copy of an advertisement placed by the National Colonization Society. The advertisement takes the form of a notice announcing that a meeting of the Society has taken place on that day, 12 May 1830, and that another will do so on June 16 (with May 26 crossed out). Listed are a number of resolutions that will be submitted at the meeting on the 16th. These resolutions concern the 'great excess of people' unemployed in Britain and the desire, of the Society, to 'supply the urgent demand for labour in the colonies' through a 'well regulated system of Emigration and Colonization'.
