Marie Duclos (1783-1833), France, married Joseph Fretageot on an unknown date. Madame Fretageot moved to Philadelphia in 1821, where she worked as a teacher following the Pestalozzian method and established a school.

Having become interested in Robert Owen's principles for education and social reform she moved in New Harmony 1826, remaining there until February 1833 when she left for Mexico City. She died there in August of the same year.
