Manuscript letter: Brand advises Owen to contact Judge Edmonds of New York - "he will at once see to your agent, who if he has acted dishonesty will now take advantageof the short time you allow him to appropriate all he can." Brand condemns Spiritualists who "see it as a means to procure custom or practice from their Spiritualist friends." He complains about the fog and smoke in London, "which comes up to the very windows and wets one through out of doors." Brand hopes to visit Owen in Sevenoaks and requests travel guidance; he has has read Owen's book.
