Letter from Robert Owen to Caroline Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Owen, writing from the London Savoy Hotel, requests that his daughter Jane and [?cousin] Julia come to London to visit him with the "least delay". He suggests, if thought "proper", that Owen's son Robert or another male companion should accompany them as far as York where Owen would meet them for the remainder of the journey.

Owen writes that [his daughter] Mary is weak and in a "critical situation"; she may recover but it is more probable she may go "into a decline".
