Letter from L. Bennett to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter: Bennett regrets Owen's opinions on "the imposture, termed the Rapping Spirits." He suggests that Owen read Charles Dickens' account of "this delusion" published in "Household Words." He is concerned that Owen's lack of judgement will "retard the cause of socialism" and hopes that: "you may turn this one mistake to useful purposes."
