Letter from Thomas Reynolds to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Reynolds makes clear his desire for himself and his family to become part of Owen's "New State of Society". He writes that for many years he has been a "Radical" in his political principles and a strong hater of "Tyranny".

The letter continues with Reynolds providing Owen with comprehensive details of his family, previous work and beliefs.

Reynolds closes the letter by requesting Owen does not make known his name and place of residence until he can join with Owen as his current employer (a relative) is an "Enemy" to Owen's system and of all democratic principles.
