Scope and Content

Manuscript letter in which Austin gives a summary of his background; his parents dying when he was young, educated at boarding school and then employed as a drug-assistant. Recently Austin has, through a man with "chartist" principles, become acquainted to Socialism and hopes that learn from Owen the practical aspect of such principles.
