Letter from William Pare to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter, Pare shares commiserations regarding the death of Mr. Brighton. Pare would like Owen to communicate to a Mr [Henry] Brougham, who is keen on infant education, that shows the "impossibility of giving a good sound practical education to the people without having a system of employment connected with it". He also asks Owen to write a letter to the Police Gazette, giving his opinions on the competition between machinery work and manual labour. He then invites Owen to stay with him.
