Letter from Robert Owen to Baron von Lindenau

Scope and Content

Manuscript draft copy letter opening with Owen thanking Lindenau for his letter and kind wishes for the success of a "new moral organisation of human society".

Owen discusses at length his views on the changes he believes necessary in society, and is clear in his mind these should take place "without disorder".

Mention is made of the late "Baron Just[ice] Minister of Saxony" visiting Owen at New Lanark, and of him being impressed with how Owen had "applied the principles which he advocated to practice".
