Letter from C.C. Viennot to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter: Viennot requests that Owen remind Captain Price to return a copy of a book by the French writer, Marie Roch Louis Reybaud. He asks because an unnamed gentleman who lent Viennot the book is returning to Paris and expects him to ask for it back.

Viennot states he was sad to hear that Owen had left Paris so soon and comments upon the English tendency of "flitting backwards and forwards from one country to another." He also states that there are "strange rumours" circulating in Paris, but he does not elaborate on what they are.
