Letter from Robert Owen to Pierre Baume

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Owen explains that his departure for France will be delayed. He has received a letter "fixing an appointment" for Monday afternoon: "an appointment which I must attend as there is a probability that the greatest good for our cause may result." He states his "devotion to the cause" and emphasises the "great importance" of his "journey to the continent." He he has written to "Lasteyrie" and intends to "go by way of Havre next Wednesday."
