This manuscript letter opens with reference to the poor state of health of Eliza Cook; she is " very ill indeed dangerously so" and has been advised to go to Devonshire, and Owen should not expect to meet her soon. Cooke writes that Cook has written an original poem, "a sweet composition", in each of his daughters "Albums", he will forward Owen a copy. Eliza Cook's address of 37 Princes Street, Rotherithe, London is include so Owen can contact her.
