Letter from Renwick Alexander to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter explaining that a shipment of 312 barrels of flour from Robert Dale Owen has been received by Alexander. Unfortunately, a great part of the shipment had been damaged by sea water, thus deferring payment until an assessment of the extent of the damage could be made.

A note is also made that "Mr Alexander of New Lanark is now slowly recovering from the shock of paralysis".
