Letter from Alex Campbell to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter the majority of which refers to events in France, and particularly Paris. Campbell writes that these events are provoking "great interest", especially in reference to the "Labour Question", adding that the newspaper editors in England are either "ignorant" of events or are being mislead by their reports in Paris.

Discussion turns to the French Communist Party, with Campbell remarking that the state of the Party will be of "much importance - for the Cause of Truth and order, not only in France but in the world"; asks Owen if he has any discourse with Louis Blanc, could he obtain a letter to be published in the "Spirit" [The Spirit of the Age] which would offset the "misrepresentation by the English Press".
