Letter from Henry Travis to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which the content and printing of edition No.7 of [ The New Existence of Man Upon Earth] is discussed at length. Travis believes that he is not a "proper person" to decide on the inclusion of certain "communications" in the publication, as he sees them as nothing more than "very curious and interesting psychological manifestations". Further discussion of "spirit" matters follows.

Travis recalls seeing [Pierre] Baume, and of him giving a much different story than the one Owen told; there seems little likelihood of being such a "general statement of plans" as Owen mentioned as Baume insists on a more definite and detailed one.
