Letter from Anna Allsop to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Anna tells Owen that "our absent friend is now safe" and that "no further steps will be taken in the matter". (The "absent friend" is almost certainly Thomas Allsop who was was charged by the French government of having knowingly purchased shells to be used by Felice Orsini in an assassination attempt upon the emperor Napoleon II).
