Letter from Alex Campbell to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Campbell writes he wishes to learn more than he is able to ascertain from the 'New Moral World' and wonders if Owen is being successful in creating a new public opinion of the "New Views of Society".

He continues, explaining how he himself is striving to educate "the minds of the people" and noting that the "friends of truth" from Glasgow and Paisley regularly meet to discuss religion, physical science and occasionally the science of society. Campbell is seeing some success in "displacing the old prejudices created by ignorance" in the minds of the people.
