Report on a visit to "Queen Wood"

Scope and Content

Manuscript report addressed to G.A. Fleming and written on behalf of the Central Board, which discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the site at Queen Wood [Queenwood] for the establishment of a community.

The site is assessed in terms of quality of the soil (Chalky), availability of water (scarce - requiring a deep well be sunk), cost of rent (cheap) and in general terms, with the country being considered "beautiful and healthy and highly suitable for an educational establishment". The final page of the report consists of a tabular listing summarising the advantages and disadvantages of the site as perceived by Aldam.
