Letter from Jane Lewsche to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Mrs Lewsche informs Robert Owen that she has arrived at her "little cottage." Lewsche states that she is "very poorly in health, and very ill in mind," and not since she was first widowed does she now feel "alone, unaided...Without protection, support or comfort all to suffer, and nothing to enjoy." Lewsche asks Owen how she can rebuild her life and "regain happiness."
