Letter from Edward Cliff to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this Manuscript letter Cliff, writing from New York, America, offers his services to Owen "in any sphere", and requests an interview with Owen before he leaves the city [New York]. Cliff gives insight for his reasons for offering to help Owen by writing, that he is one of the persons "who see in the ultimate doom of his native country either the principles of Socialism established or wild Anarchy first and eventually the iron rod of the worst species of despotism"; recommends a periodical he believes will promote the "cause".
